Cross Country Quilts

As part of our ongoing study of Oceans and Islands this year, we are currently in Hawaii...strategically planned so that we can have a luau for our end of the year party!
I found these beautiful Hawaiian snowflake quilts  (http://thelongthread.com/?p=53)  and knew I wanted the kids to try them.  And even though West Virginia isn't technically an island, I can do a lot of compare and contrast with the 2 states.  So, we also made some simple 9 patch kind of "mountain" quilts.  Hence, the cross country reference...Hawaii to West Virginia.   Have a look :

Not bad, huh?

Have a great weekend.

  1. Not bad at all!! I find myself at a loss for new things to say - just the same old praise: you're so clever and gifted and brilliant, blah, blah, blah - I know you get tired of hearing it. Just the same old stuff about kids being influenced forever and their lives deeply enriched. Yeah. Wish I could come up with something new -

  2. It doesn't even have to be that much said...just knowing you saw and believed is enough!
I'll let you know if it becomes tiresome. Yeah, right!
